Even though you showed all the very best parts of my coming life in this trailer I'm somehow even more excited to live the whole movie. You forgot one item though. "This year, you'll sit down to write something expecting it be the usual slog and instead a brilliant stream of messy prophecy will tumble from your fingers in a single sitting. You'll consider cleaning it up, and then think, hell no, and thankfully, just hit the publish button instead."
Feels like one I need to print out and write down when these things happen. There’s such a healthy humility in these, a common denominator of being part of something bigger than ourselves. Massive fan of that sentiment. 🙏
So awesome Alex. Like Matt said, so much vastness outside of and bigger than ourselves. I could have picked any of them but this is the one that I chose to highlight:
“It will be excruciating. Later, you will marvel at how much you’ve learned from that loss. At how much it’s given you.”
This is a beautiful piece, man. What a way to start the year. I really love the juxtapositions throughout, the finding oneself in a particular vantage point, the pride and the regret, followed by "... and you'll be wrong."

Did you have a camera inside my mind this morning?

Great catch - I didn't realize that was a through line, but you're spot on.
This is an absolutely brilliant dose of wisdom and humanity. It bears reading over and over.
Thanks so much Larry.

Beautiful.
Thank you James. That was one that felt particularly charged for me as well.
The last one is my favorite.
Thanks for this, Alex. In one blog, you’ve described the essence of BEing in a grounded, accessible way.
Welcome to humanhood, eh? 💕🙃

Appreciate you Tommy.
Hey dude, I’ve been MIA from the stack for a while now, but I just wanted to say I’m amazed at how much you’ve grown as a writer. Very cool.
Means a lot man. Hope you're doing great.
